How To Recondition Teak Furniture
Teak furniture – Teak is a robust type of wood that will last for generations. Without a regular and oiled cleaning, the golden color of the teak will turn a silver-gray color. There is no need to spend money on a professional painter’s furniture because reactivating your teak garden furniture to its original sheen is a simple process that you can do yourself. Sand the teak furniture with fine grain sandpaper.
Mix 2 cups of household ammonia with 1 lid full of laundry detergent after putting on a pair of rubber gloves. Apply the cleaning solution of the teak furniture, using a brush to gently clean the furniture while working in straight horizontal lines, from top to bottom. Discard any unused cleaning solution after having cleaned the entire piece of furniture.
Rinse the teak furniture with a hose and let it dry completely, preferably in the sun, for at least three days. Pour the teak oil over a clean, lint-free cloth after putting on the rubber gloves and applying the teak oil to the furniture from top to bottom. Allow the cabinet to dry overnight before use. Clean and oil your teak furniture every three months to make it look its best. Always wear rubber gloves when working with teak oil and the ammonia mixture because both substances can irritate the skin.
